V40’s App
FPT is an app for students to connect with other students from school to socialize at home in a safe space. Students brainstormed this idea because they would like to see friends after school. They interviewed peers who expressed interest in hanging out with friends after school in an app. The app is safe because teachers must create student accounts and students can only interact with students from their school building, not the whole world. Parent permission is also required. In the app, students can post an activity they want to do with others, such as watching TV, playing a game at a certain time, or simply looking through posts and picking an activity to join. Once students join the activity, they will see friends in a video call on one half of the screen and watch TV or play the game together on the other half of the screen.
